Gheorghe Marian Cristescu, President of Polski Holding Hotelowy and “Hotele dla Medyków” Foundation, gave a check for PLN 100,000 toPaweł Bakun, Director of the Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
The ceremony was held in front of the hospital, taking all the necessary precautions. It was also attended by the West Pomeranian Voivode Tomasz Hinc and by Marcin Mazurek, President of Polski Holding Nieruchomości – one of the founders of the “Hotele dla Medyków” Foundation. The foundation’s donation will finance medical equipment used in the hospital treatment of patients with COVID-19.
“This is not the first time that Polski Holding Hotelowy has supported the West Pomeranian health service,” said Tomasz Hinc. “PHH has been helping us since the very beginning of the pandemic.During the first wave of COVID-19 in the spring, thanks to Polski Holding Hotelowy, our medical staff had the Rycerski Hotel at their disposal, we received support in creating isolatories and now, we have PLN 100,000 for the hospital in Szczecin.I am very thankful for this commitment and readiness to help.”
Establishing the “Hotele dla Medyków” Foundation that covers the costs of accommodation for medical staff fighting on the frontline was one of many CSR activities of the PHH Group. The first million was donated to the foundation by Polski Holding Hotelowy. Ultimately, the foundation had the amount of PLN 3.25 million, which was raised thanks to the support of Polski Holding Nieruchomości, Przedsiębiorstwo Państwowe “Porty Lotnicze” and Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych.
“Setting up a foundation during the pandemic has not been easy. Thanks to the immediate support of our sponsors, we managed to collect the amount that we donated to the Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in Szczecin.I sincerely hope that the purchased equipment will help save the lives of many patients and greatly facilitate the work of medical staff, who have been combating COVID-19 on the frontline for many months,” said Gheorghe Marian Cristescu, President of Polski Holding Hotelowy.
“We will spend the money on oxygen concentrators — we are planning to buy about 20,” said Paweł Bakun, Director of the Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. “Any financial help is valuable to us, and we are very grateful for support.”
“In these difficult times, we are once again supporting the activities of healthcare workers and donating to the Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in Szczecin. As always, we have emphasized that it is only by joint actions and general involvement of many people and institutions that we will be able to face this great challenge of fighting the spread of COVID-19 and saving the health and lives of the most affected people,” said Marcin Mazurek, President of Polski Holding Nieruchomości.
From the very beginning of the pandemic in March this year, Polski Holding Hotelowy joined in the fight against the imminent crisis. In agreement with Polish authorities, a number of social activities were undertaken to support the medical staff fighting on the frontline, for example by delivering free meals to medical services, supporting the hotlines of NFZ (National Health Fund) and GIS (Chief Sanitary Inspectorate), opening the first Polish hotels for medics and creating isolatories, as well as providing rooms for cancer patients treated by the Institute of Mother and Child.
