Polski Holding Nieruchomości S.A. received the title of “Transparent Company of the Year 2017” in the second edition of the ranking prepared by the Accounting and Tax Institute and “Parkiet” stock exchange daily. The ranking's results were based on a survey among companies that covered three major areas of communication with the market: financial reporting, investor relations and corporate governance principles.
The organizers' initiative aims at improving the quality of public companies’ communication with the market by increasing awareness among: the management — about areas which are important in that communication; supervisory bodies — about issuers’ information and reporting duties; auditors — about the important role they play in auditing issuers’ financial statements, about signals they send to companies, and whether their task should be restricted to issuing an opinion on auditing the financial statements; and consultants and advisers, who are often a source of innovation and a new approach to communication with the market.
The companies were surveyed in terms of the quality of communication with the market and business transparency. The survey that public companies had to complete included various questions in the field of financial reporting, investor relations and corporate governance principles. The communication with investors, analysts and media representatives was taken into account, as well as having a development strategy, providing financial forecasts and the issue of remuneration and possible penalties from supervisory bodies.
The ranking is intended for 140 companies listed in the three main indices (WIG20, mWIG40 and sWIG80). In the WIG80 index, the winners included Polski Holding Nieruchomości S.A. The results of the ranking “Transparent Company of the Year 2017” were officially announced on April 25, 2018 on Warsaw Stock Exchange. During the ceremony, the most transparent companies of the year 2017 from WIG20, WIG40 and WIG80 indices were selected. Last year, during the 1st edition of the ranking, Polski Holding Nieruchomości S.A. was also one of the winners and received the title of “Transparent Company of the Year 2016”.
