czwartek, Listopad 17, 2016 - 23:58

On November 16, 2016, 17 key Polish enterprises – companies with the Treasury’s stake – including Polski Holding Nieruchomości S.A. signed a notarial deed on establishing Polish National Foundation and its statute.

“The Foundation has an important task – promoting the Polish economy and shaping a positive image of companies with the Treasury’s stake and their investment projects in Poland and abroad. There is power in synergy, so it makes sense that the founders perform this task together,” said Minister Henryk Kowalczyk, Member of the Council of Ministers standing in for the Minister of Treasury, adding that Polish National Foundation is a project initiated by the former Minister of Treasury Dawid Jackiewicz and the Prime Minister.

Polish National Foundation has been founded by leading Polish corporations from key sectors of the economy: power industry, transport, logistics, mining, metallurgy, fuels, insurance, chemical industry, financial sector, real estate, and lottery games.

The Foundation’s tasks will include promoting and protecting the image of Poland and Polish economy in Poland and abroad, as well as shaping positive social perception of projects carried out by companies with the Treasury’s stake. The organization will also cooperate with local communities, social and economic organizations, and authorities in the field of culture and science, and organize and finance social initiatives corresponding to the Foundation’s statutory goals.

Funds for realizing the Foundation’s mission will be provided by its seventeen founders. Polish National Foundation aims to achieve long-term goals while maintaining highest effectiveness, as well as transparency and accountability in its areas of operation. For that purpose, it will use state-of-the-art tools while minimizing its own costs. Its activities will be overt and transparent, and its authorities will be obliged to submit annual financial statements to the Foundation’s Board.

“We assume that the Foundation will take real actions, in accordance with primary assumptions, as early as in 2017,” said Mr. Kowalczyk.
