THE FIRST BUILDING OF THE SKYSAWA COMPLEX RECEIVES BREEAM INTERIM CERTIFICATE WITH THE HIGHEST RATING

Tuesday, September 24, 2019 - 15:55

Building A, which is part of the SKYSAWA office and commercial complex, has been awarded a BREEAM Interim certificate with an “Outstanding” rating. This is currently the highest rating and the first certificate in Poland at this level in the BREEAM International 2016 New Construction system.

When applying for a certificate in the BREEAM New Construction multi-criteria system, buildings are evaluated in 10 categories, including management, energy, transport, water, and materials. In 3 out of 10 categories, SKYSAWA received the maximum number of points, i.e. for location and transport, water saving and implementation process management.

“When designing the SKYSAWA complex, we set ourselves ambitious goals when it comes to sustainability and energy efficiency. The use of such solutions already at the stage of demolition of the old building, during construction, and in the new building itself has been recognized by awarding, for the first time in Poland, the Outstanding certificate in the BREEAM New Construction 2016 system.

This is a great distinction and a guarantee that the tenants of our flagship project will get highest sustainability standards,” explains Tomasz Górnicki, Vice-President of the Management Board for Investment, Polski Holding Nieruchomości.

Construction of the SKYSAWA building began at the end of June this year. From the beginning, the construction has been carried out in a sustainable manner, by striving to minimize the amount of waste generated during works, reducing water and energy consumption, e.g. by recovering rainwater for watering greenery, and optimizing transport to reduce the carbon footprint. In addition, in accordance with the principles of sustainable construction, the materials used in the next stages of the project will be verified in terms of their sustainability, including their composition and obtained certificates.

SKYSAWA is a state-of-the-art office and commercial complex with an area of ca. 40,000 sq.m. The key asset of the project is its excellent location — in the very center of the capital, right by the ONZ Roundabout, in the quarter of Świętokrzyska, Twarda, Mariańska and aleja Jana Pawła II streets. SKYSAWA is one of the few buildings in Warsaw that will have a direct connection to a metro station.
