The work on the expansion of the warehouse space and the supplementary office space of the PHN Pruszków logistics park has been completed. At the beginning of January, PHN handed over nearly 4,000 sq. m of modern and functional space to the tenant – DPD Polska. This means that DPD will have a warehouse with a total area of over 18,000 sq. m.
Construction works of the facility lasted from April to November 2022. In December 2022, PHN received a permit to use the warehouse. The general contractor for the expansion work was Rex-Bud and the project was managed by Hillwood. The newly expanded warehouse will be used as one of the largest sorting plants of DPD Polska. The expansion of the sorting plant will increase the operability and capacity of the maneuvering area and increase the efficiency of traffic organization with a higher number of line haul vehicles.
PHN Pruszków includes four buildings with a total area of 54.5 thousand sq. m, located on a 17-hectare area. The warehouse complex is located in Brwinów, 3 km from the Pruszków interchange (A2 motorway) and 20 km from the center of Warsaw. The project provides excellent access to the country’s main transport routes: the A2 motorway connecting Warsaw with Poznań and Berlin as well as Warsaw’s ring road – the S8/S2. The close vicinity of the property includes a PKP railway station in Parzniew on the railway line from Warsaw to Skierniewice and the Warsaw Chopin Airport is only 15 km away.
“More than four years ago, when DPD Polska started its activity in the logistics park, we considered a possible expansion of the warehouse. We are pleased that these plans have been finalized and today we can hand over a modern area of 4,000 sq. m to our partner. Consistently, we focus on the development of logistics – in the immediate vicinity of the park we have an investment area of approx. 18.6 hectares, where we are considering another investment of a warehouse and industrial nature. We are currently running pre-development activities aimed at preparing the property for the implementation of the project”, said Piotr Przednowek, Member of the Management Board for Development of Polski Holding Nieruchomości S.A.
“The expansion of the sorting plant in Pruszków is a response to growing online sales volumes. Regional sorting plants are an important link in the logistics model we have been implementing for several years, which relies on decentralization of logistics processes. In this way, we are able to effectively shorten the distance between the sorting plant and the recipient, which increases operation profitability and reduces carbon footprint”, comments Rafał Nawłoka, President of the Management Board at DPD Polska.
